Frequently asked questions about our MSP Partner Program
What is a broadband reseller program?
A broadband reseller program allows businesses to sell internet services to customers without investing in the network infrastructure or managing the network themselves.
Aussie Broadband’s MSP partner program is an example of a broadband reseller program – it allows managed service providers to on-sell our award-winning internet services to their clients. Plus, our MSPs have access to our Australian-based team of experts to back them up whenever they need it.
What is an MSP?
MSP stands for ‘Managed Service Provider’. An MSP manages a business’ IT infrastructure. This usually involves overseeing the business’ network, internet services and end-user experience, as well as streamlining existing systems and anticipating the future IT needs of the business.
As the world of business becomes increasingly reliant on connectivity, small businesses can be just as reliant on their IT and internet services as large enterprises. Businesses may opt to outsource the management of their IT services to an MSP to avoid hiring IT staff or training existing staff in new systems. MSPs are experts at what they do and can ensure the businesses’ internet and IT services function smoothly. This allows staff to focus on growing the company, instead of dealing with IT issues.
How does the Aussie Broadband MSP partner program work?
Not only do Managed Service Providers that participate in the Aussie Broadband MSP partner program get access to dedicated account managers and network engineers, they also get free access to our industry-first business portal, Carbon.
Carbon allows managers to centrally manage your internet and network services across sites. Featuring complete end-to-end ordering, easy service configurations and customisations, centralised notifications, billing and support, and real time service and analytics tools, Carbon puts the same tools our staff use in the hands of your MSP.
What are managed services?
Managed services refer to the IT, network and internet services and infrastructure a business needs to function. Businesses often outsource the management of these services to MSPs so their staff can focus on growing the business.
MSPs may perform monitoring and maintenance of a business’ IT and connectivity systems and address any end-user issues staff may experience. This can lead to increased efficiency for the business, as well as a reduction in costs and downtime.
How much do MSPs charge?
The amount an MSP charges will generally depend on the size of your business and the complexity of your IT systems, network and business connectivity needs.
If you’re an MSP seeking to join Aussie Broadband’s partner program and have questions around pricing, get in touch with our MSP account managers here.
How does an MSP work?
Even prior to the pandemic, MSPs generally managed businesses’ IT and connectivity networks and services remotely. This meant that businesses could access the MSP of their choosing without having to consider geographical constraints.
MSPs often operate using service level agreements – or SLAs. This means that businesses can specify the amount of support they require and pay accordingly. Depending on what the business chooses, they could access round-the-clock on-demand IT support – accessing IT support in this way is often significantly cheaper than hiring internal IT staff.
Why select an Australian MSP?
While there are MSPs to choose from located all over the world, there are a lot of perks to selecting an Australian-based MSP. Firstly, Australian MSPs have a unique understanding of the needs of local small and medium businesses. Secondly, if you select an off-shore MSP and your SLA does not cover 24/7 support, you may not be able to access support during business hours in your timezone. Thirdly, by selecting an Australian-based MSP, you are supporting local jobs.
